You can start without any personal photo by using our fictional mini export, then try your own Google Photos Takeout if you already have one.

The pack contains only four tiny fictional images and three JSON files made for this test. It contains no real photo, GPS position, identity or personal data.
- Download and fully extract the ZIP. Then open the extracted folder.
- Launch PhotosClaires and select the
Takeoutsubfolder when your browser asks. - Compare the scan with the expected result. In Chrome or Edge, you may also try the organized copy to a different folder.
The scan and its preview take about 3 minutes. The organized copy is optional. This fictional dataset verifies the journey but does not replace a later test on a real export.
Then test your own export
- work only with a copy of your export and keep the original untouched;
- finish downloading and extracting every Takeout archive before the test;
- run the test on a computer; a recent version of Chrome or Edge is required to try the organized copy;
- for a modest export, allow about 10 to 15 minutes for the scan and your feedback; it may take longer depending on its size and your computer's performance;
- the optional copy may take much longer for a large export and requires enough free disk space.
Your browser reads the selected files locally: PhotosClaires uploads neither media nor JSON files. The copy is written to a new folder that you choose.
What we want to verify
- The scan completes without assistance.
- The results and the
_A-verifierfolder are easy to understand. - In Chrome or Edge, the optional copy completes with
COMPLETE.txtpresent andINCOMPLETE.txtabsent. - A sample of copied media opens normally and the originals have not been modified.
PhotosClaires does not rewrite EXIF metadata or file-system dates, and it does not delete duplicates. A negative result or a blocker is just as useful to us as a successful test.
Send feedback without sharing your files
First say whether you used the demo folder or a personal export. Then provide only your operating system, browser, an approximate file-count range, whether the scan and copy completed, a clarity score from 1 to 5 and your main difficulty.
